Darien – new track for 2026

Hi, as promised, I’m continuing to put any new material up on soundcloud and I’m happy to say there is a new track “Darien” now uploaded (considered ‘unreleased’ with a rough Northcape master). It’s a warm, contemplative piece of electronica that I think is recognisably ‘Northcape’, with maybe a few more strings than normal. It stems from an idea from the end of 2024 but after a bit of practice and quite a few experiments in the meantime, it was only possible to finish in the first few weeks of this year. It’s been hard to restart music after a long gap, but following the first new track for a long time “Aquifer” uploaded 6 months ago, I hope I will continue to make progress. Thank you for the ongoing support – as always, any comments or feedback gratefully recieved.

Almost unbelievably, I have another track mixed and pretty much ready to go. That's 2 tracks in less than a month! (OK, not counting the gestation period). I'm not going to rush it out this evening, in case I spot something wrong, but look for something in the next week or so :) #musicproduction

I had a weird experience last night where everything I did, including picking synth patches, was apparently right first time for the track I was working on. No iteration needed (played it back this morning and that indeed seems to be the case), #musicproduction
